Abstract: This paper focusses on IOT and its applications in real time scenarios. We are mainly focusing on three major applications i.e., IOT based Biometrics, Home Automation and security, Health monitoring system. With the increased number of Internet enabled devices in the modern world, authentication plays a crucial role for secure access. Raspberry PI is used to build a low-cost biometric system. It describes how biometric can leavage cloud’s boundless computational resources and striking properties of flexibility, scalability and cost reduction. Home automation system describes about building a secure home with automation that helps in reducing energy, electricity and also more useful for elder people or people with physical disabilities. Health monitoring system achieves to develop a reliable patient monitoring system using IoT so that the healthcare professionals can monitor their patients, who are either hospitalized or at home using an IoT based integrated healthcare system by monitoring the patients 24/7.
